Ecoventure – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Ecoventure! By booking a tour with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. We’ve written them in clear language so you know exactly how things work.

1. Bookings & Payments
  • Tours can be booked directly through our website, authorized partners, or Ecoventure staff.
  • Full payment is required to secure your booking.
  • Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) by default. However, customers can select other currencies available through the payment platform at checkout.
  • Payments are processed securely through third-party providers:
    • WeTravel for online bookings
    • Bold for manual payments (handled by Ecoventure staff)
  • Ecoventure may reject bookings if payment details do not match or if a transaction is flagged as suspicious.
  • By paying, you confirm that:
    • The credit/debit card used belongs to you or you are authorized to use it.
    • You will not dispute the charge as long as Ecoventure delivers the service booked.
2. Passport & IVA Tax Exemption
  • To qualify for the 19% IVA tax exemption for foreign travelers, you must send Ecoventure:
    • A copy of your passport, and
    • A copy/photo of your Colombian entry stamp.
  • These documents must be provided before the tour starts.
  • If they are not submitted in time, we are legally required to charge the 19% IVA tax, which is non-refundable.
  • These documents are also required for travel insurance coverage.
3. What’s Included (and Not Included)
  • Each tour description clearly lists what is included (transport, activities, meals, etc.).
  • Anything not listed is not included. Common exclusions are: flights, entrance tickets, food, tips, optional activities, and personal expenses.
  • If you’re unsure, please ask us before booking to avoid surprises.
4. Cancellations & Refunds
A) Daily Tours
  • Cancel 24 hours or more before the start → 100% refund.
  • Cancel less than 24 hours before the start → no refund.
  • No-shows or late arrivals → no refund.
  • Card/processing fees are always non-refundable.
B) Tour Packages & Multi-Day Tours

Refunds depend on how far in advance you cancel:

  • 60+ days before → 100% refund
  • 45+ days before → 75% refund
  • 30+ days before → 50% refund
  • 15 days or less → No refund
C) Partial Refunds & Exceptions
  • Certain activities (e.g. paragliding) may be weather-dependent. If they cannot take place, a partial refund will apply as specified in the tour description.
  • Refunds are processed according to payment provider timelines and may take several working days.
5. Changes & Rescheduling
  • Daily tours: Changes must be made at least 24 hours before the start.
  • Packages: Changes must be requested at least 30 days before the start.
  • Changes made later cannot be guaranteed and may be treated as cancellations.
6. Cancellations by Ecoventure

Sometimes, things are out of our hands. Ecoventure may cancel or reschedule a tour due to:

  • Weather or safety conditions
  • Natural disasters or public order issues
  • Road closures or lack of resources
  • Minimum number of travelers not reached (usually 4)

If we cancel, you’ll receive:

  • A full refund (minus card fees), or
  • The option to reschedule.

We do not cover additional costs (such as flights or hotels booked independently).

7. Itinerary Conditions
  • While we do our best to deliver the full itinerary, some attractions may be closed due to holidays, strikes, weather, or other events outside our control.
  • If you are late or miss a meeting point, the group will continue. It is your responsibility to rejoin the group at the next stop.
8. Health, Safety & Conduct
  • Travelers must be in good health and disclose any relevant conditions before booking. Participation is at your own risk.
  • We may refuse participation or remove anyone who:
    • Acts in a way that endangers others
    • Is under the influence of drugs or alcohol
    • Disrupts the tour
  • No refunds apply in such cases.
9. Luggage & Personal Items
  • Ecoventure is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.
  • Please keep valuables with you and consider travel insurance for extra protection.
10. Insurance
  • Travel and health insurance are strongly recommended.
  • Insurance covers only the services and situations specified in the policy.
  • Ecoventure staff will assist in emergencies but cannot alter the itinerary for other travelers.
11. Customer Satisfaction & Waiver Form
  • At the end of each tour, you will be asked to sign a satisfaction and waiver form confirming that:
    • The services were delivered as described.
    • You are satisfied with the tour.
    • You accept the inherent risks of participation.
    • You waive the right to future disputes, claims, or chargebacks regarding the completed service.
12. Suppliers & Third Parties
  • Some activities are provided by partner operators. Their own terms and conditions also apply.
  • By booking with Ecoventure, you agree to respect both Ecoventure’s rules and those of our suppliers.
13. Legal Compliance
  • Ecoventure complies with all applicable Colombian laws, including those related to tourism, safety, and consumer protection.
  • Any illegal acts by travelers are their sole responsibility.
14. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Colombian law. Any disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Medellín, Colombia.

15. Protection of Children and Adolescents (ESCNNA)

Ecoventure complies with Law 679 of 2001, Law 1336 of 2009, and related regulations to prevent and counter the exploitation, pornography, and sexual tourism with minors (ESCNNA).

⚠️ It is illegal in Colombia to exploit children and adolescents sexually in tourism activities. Any traveler engaging in such activities will be immediately expelled from the tour without refund and reported to the competent authorities for legal prosecution.

16. Acceptance of Terms

By booking with Ecoventure, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
