  • Identification data (name, nationality, passport/ID, date of birth).
  • Contact details (email, phone, address).
  • Travel details (dates, bookings, preferences).
  • Payment information (processed securely by third-party platforms; Ecoventure does not store full card details).
  • Immigration documents: passport copy and Colombian entry stamp. These are required to:
    • Issue insurance coverage for your tour.
    • Demonstrate to the Colombian tax authority (DIAN) that services were delivered to you.
    • Confirm the existence of a commercial relationship with you as a foreign traveler, which enables IVA tax exemption.
3. Purpose of Data Processing

Your data will be used exclusively for:

  • Managing bookings, payments, and participation in tours.
  • Compliance with legal and tax obligations (including DIAN reporting and IVA exemption validation).
  • Issuing insurance coverage.
  • Communication before, during, and after your trip (confirmations, updates, emergencies).
  • Sending service-related information (not spam).
  • Fulfilling obligations under Colombian laws and tourism regulations.
4. Rights of Data Holders

As per Colombian law, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal data we have and how we use it.
  • Update or correct your data if it is incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.
  • Request deletion of your data if it is not required for legal or contractual purposes.
  • Withdraw consent for the processing of your data, except when necessary by law.
  • File complaints before the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) if you believe your rights are violated.
5. How to Exercise Your Rights

  • We will respond within 15 business days.
  • If additional time is needed, we will inform you within that period.
6. Data Sharing & Third Parties
  • Ecoventure may share your data with third-party providers (payment platforms, insurance companies, tour partners) strictly for the purposes outlined here.
  • Your data will never be sold, rented, or used for unauthorized purposes.
7. Storage, Retention & Security
  • Personal data is stored securely using cloud providers with encryption and restricted access (e.g., Amazon Web Services).
  • We apply technical, administrative, and human security measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
  • Immigration documents (passport + entry stamp) and booking records will be stored for a minimum of 3 years, in compliance with DIAN tax requirements, to demonstrate the provision of services and the existence of a commercial relationship.
  • After the retention period, data will be securely deleted, unless longer storage is legally required.
8. International Data Transfers

If required (e.g., for payment processing or insurance coverage), your data may be transferred outside Colombia under secure conditions and only to providers that comply with international data protection standards.
